save as goes to new folder

Please help me. I am not too proficient with Excel and I just started this job.

I typed a purchase order.

When I go to save as, it goes to a new folder, not the one it is supposed to, and I can't delete that folder or put it into the right one.

you might want to check under options and save to see what folder it defaults to.

In the documents library, it says "new folder" which wasn't there before, and I can't get rid of that or save it to the other.

usually when you click on save as it pops up the box and the folder is already in the box w/the drop down arrow. It usually also has a box at the left with "save in" and a list of locations there which ususally includes desktop etc. You're saying you cannot select the location in the dropdown list?

Under the file tab you can also go into options and see where it is defaulted to save.

Yes. When I go to "blank purchase orders" fill one out, press "save to" there is NO list of locations. It is gone. It says "file name" Save as workbook and below it says "author" "title" etc. but it won't save. It asks if I want to replace the file that's there (the blank document). There is no list of locations and before I bumped something there were many locations.

Have you checked the file tab >> options to see what is listed under the save area for locations?
