Showing current page number and total page number in entire workbook?

In my header I am trying to show the current page number and the total number of pages in the workbook. So if I have 10 pages in my workbook, page 5 would read "5 of 10".

I have this in my header "&[Page] of &[Pages]". All worksheets with 1 page read "1 of 1" and worksheets with 2 pages read "1 of 2" on the first page and "2 of 2" on the second page.

If anyone could help me out that would be awesome!

    Thanks in advance.

Any ideas? Is "&[Page] of &[Pages]" only displaying the page numbers for a worksheet, not a workbook?

I have 10 worksheets. On worksheet 5 for example, I want it to say "5 of 10". Right now it is displaying "1 of 1".

A Workbook can have several worksheets
Each work sheet can have several pages
So 'page' is not the same as 'worksheet'

I think you need VBA for this
    Thereby I can't help you

Rename your worksheets as chapters and include the name at the header. You wont get a count of the total number of pages but at least you can get a sequence to follow throughout your printed dodument.

You will probably have several pages on each tab and each tab has its own header. If you print the whole workbook each tab will start on page 1
