Custom View much slower in xlsm than xls

Hello,

I have an xls file with 4 custom views on it, at about 2.4 mb. It works quickly without any hiccups. When I save the file to xlsm (size 887 kb), then it is still fast. However, when I close the new xlsm file and reopen it, the custom views take about 20 seconds each to load. I have successfully recreated the issue on over 10 similar files, so I am sure it is not a problem with the individual file.

Does anyone have some insight for me as to why this is the case?

Thank you for your reply but I should point out that the file itself is not slower to run; only the custom view is slow. Maybe I have misunderstood your point. Could you clarify a little more?

Thanks anyways for trying and responding. Could anyone else offer some insight, or a workaround?
