    Multiple exclusions from a cubeset

First time for everything including forum post...

I have two similar cubes, one for production and one for sales which I am using to build a pricing model. Each of these cubes shows data at individual item level, with items being also part of item groups. One of the cubes, production, has an additional indicator showing that the item is part of a premium programme. I want to exclude these (roughly 350 items across 30 product groups) from the sales cube which does not have the premium indicator so that I can show that production of a certain item group, excluding some items, lead to sales of that item group also excluding those same premium items.

What I was hoping to do was in lieu of having the premium indicator added to the sales cube - a long process - I could merely have a list of items number which the cubeset formula looked at and if item number were present, excluded from the set. Making multiple sets and taking one from the other is not possible as there are 350 items.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Welcome to the forum!

You're referring to cubes... do you perhaps have the data in two different CUB files? In that case you'll probably need to pull them into excel first, I think.

Well, it sounds like you've got a couple layers of request here.
    1) Data split between two sources. You want to combine them.

    2) Filter the combined data to exclude items based on a boolean.

    Is that about right?

Thanks for the response. The cubes are ODC. Love to bring them into excel but they are millions of lines a piece for the time period I need - a couple of months. All I really want to do is exclude a select range of children from one of the sets, that should see me right. Something like:

=CUBESET("LIVE - Sales","([Programme].[Programme].[All].[Not Applicable],[Item].[Trade Product Group 4].[All].["&C11&"],[Calendar].[Fin Year].[All].[2013],[Class].[Class Name].[All].["&D11&"],[Country].[Country Name].[All].children)","% Sales",2,"[Measures].[Sales KG]") where some children of [Trade Product Group 4] are left out. Is that possible or could there be some other way?
