Hi Folks, I have several numeric values in one cell enetered using the alt return method, can these values be recognised as individual entries and therefore when the cell is formatted as $ it is applied on all entries?
Thanks a mill.

I'll be happy to be proven wrong, but I don't think so. Entering multiple "values" into a cell like that causes the cell's "data type", if you will, to be text. And there just is not a lot of formatting options available for text entries.
Of course, as text strings, you can easily include '$' characters or any other characters in the text string if you want.
I'm not very good with Excel's built in text manipulation functions (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...839.aspx?CTT=1), but I suspect that there would be a way, in an adjacent cell, to create a formula (I expect it will be quite complex) that would use those text manipulation function to add the '$' to the text string.
Is there a real reason for putting multiple entries into a single cell? I have always believed that a spreadsheet is easiest to use and program if each cell contains only one piece of information. I always found that, putting multiple pieces of information into one cell made spreadsheet programming much more difficult than necessary.
