    Average Symbol

    Hi,

    Can someone please tell me how to get a letter with a horizontal bar - to denote an average value - above it in Excel?

    you mean like that? copy and paste it from the character map. Or enter with the numpad code (alt+0101 on your number pad for the ā).

    You could try: Goto the menu Insert> Symbol On the Symbols tab... Select the MS Reference San Serif font From: Unicode (hex) Subset: Private Use Area
