currencies always have an extra .0

For some mysterious reason my currencies always look like this:

    20.0.00 for 20 Euros

withe the last two 00;s are the decimals

I just can't find a way to remove the .0!

    please help!

What is the number format applied to the cell?

Perhaps you can attach a workbook, so we can see the numberformat you are referring to.

Okay, your cell A1 has a custom numberformat, as: "€" #.##0.00 As you can see, this format includes two decimal points, hence your error.

Do you use , or . as your thousand separator / decimal point? For UK settings, the required number format would be: "€" #,##0.00 but your locale requirements may be different. Either way, you need to change the cell numberformat so that it doesn't include two decimal points.
