Tracking empty tonne boxes

Hello all,

Where I am working we use a lot of tonne boxes to transport and move around crops and vegetables. From time to time we tend to loose track of all our empty boxes and I have been asked to see if I can produce a spreadsheet that can be used to track these empty boxes.

I know this is a bit of a blue question but can anyone provide me with links/info/templates of example excel models that can be used to track boxes/crates or any such assets that tend to be used to despatch and receive stock between suppliers, the business and the customer etc? I'm really at a loss and need a starting point with this. Any pointers towards excel models that are even vaguely similar would be a big help
