Hi all,
Is it possible to set something up on a spreadsheet which shows who last updated a cell and when they did it? I have a huge spreadhseet with lots of data on which gets updated by a number of users, they update a lot of different cells and this leads to errors being made with the data in the spreadsheet.
I am hoping there is a way I can show who updated a cell and what date - is this doable??

You can create an audit log for the worksheet or the whole workbook. However, you'd need VBA and that means you must force the users to enable macros ... or open the workbook from a trusted location.
That involves hiding and unhiding sheets so that the workbook is unusable without enabling macros
If you do decide to go for it, one way or another, you could track before and after values.

@OllyXLS: never thought of that. Downside is that it makes the workbook Shared which is not something we would normally encourage.

Probably better to lock formula cells, apply Data Validation, and protect worksheets ... again, standard functionality.
