So, to break it down to its most basic:
I have a workbook with two worksheets - A and B
Worksheet B has columns that refer back to columns in worksheet A. Ex. ='Worksheet A'!A3
However, the values in worksheet A become outdated every week (account balances), so our accounting software spits out a new worksheet that is identical in format to worksheet A, just with the updated numbers.
So my question is if there is any way to simply replace worksheet A with the worksheet from our accounting software and still have worksheet B maintain & update the relative reference values.
I couldn't figure out a way (tried copying the worksheet to the workbook, then renaming it and worksheet A in an attempt to "fool" worksheet B into referring to the newly added worksheet instead of the older one), so I tried simply adding the updated worksheet as C into my workbook. Then, I was simply going to revise the top formula of a column in worksheet B to ='Worksheet C'!A3 then drag it down the rest of the column and update worksheet B that way. However, instead of applying the reference and carrying over the value from worksheet C, instead the cell will simply show the formula. I cannot get it to apply.
Thoughts? thank you
