    conditional formating

    Hi, friends

    what I am trying to do is if Cell D3 is "paid", then the color of Cell C3 will be red, and text will be yellow.

    How can I do this? Plz help me to do this.

    Put this formula in conditional formating

    Dear Friends..

    When the above formula is puted for one cell its working..but how could i do this for a range of cells

    like..

    B2 IS "PAID" THEN A2 IS FORMATTED
    B3 IS "PAID" THEN A3 IS FORMATTED.. AND so on...

    upto B16 IS "PAID" THEN A16 IS FORMATTED

    PLease help

    Select the range of cells that you want affected by Conditional Formatting before entering the formula for the Conditional Formatting.

    If you already have the rule in place, click on Conditional Formatting, Manage Rules, find the rule, and in the Applies to: change the cell references to cover the range of cells that the formatting should affect. Be careful when doing so. Click in the field, hit F2 to enable editing and make the changes necessary. Note that the cell references are ABSPLUTE that is, they have $ signs before the letters and the numbers in the references like $A$1:$A$25.
