Removing a cell background in a template

I found this template, it works great, I have customized it to fit my business.
One thing I cannot seem to change is the cell background on the shift tab.
I am able to change the background but on the schedule tab when I select a shift the background is still the same.

I can change it but when I select the shift in the schedule the background is unchanged. All I want to do is remove the background.

How did you change the background? maybe I'm not doing it right???

Use Conditional Formatting

Sorry I don't understand how to change this under Conditional Formatting. Please break it down for me because I'm an idiot when it come to excel.
I just want to remove the colors.

Just confirm me one thing whether you would like to add the colors based on the drop down selection?

Or

Simply just wanted to remove the color?

I don't have a color printer, all cells just print shades of gray, so I just want to remove the colors altogether.

Check Printer Options to ignore Background Color while printing.

Or

Just duplicate the sheet and Press Ctrl+A twice and set the background to No fill and give print and delete the duplicated sheet.
