Ctrl + Arrow key isn't working the way I need it to

So for the past two years, I've been using ctrl+arrow keys to skip over blank cells and go to the next cell that contains data inside of it. Now all of a sudden, it jumps to the end of my data set instead of simply jumping to the next cell with data in it. After a google search, the function is apparently doing what it's made to do, but historically, has never done this for me. I am on a new computer, so I'm guessing that has something to do with it, but I was on 6 different computes over the past 2 years and this PC is the only one that's doing this to me. Any ideas on what's going on? Better yet, is there another solution that allows me to skip over vacant cells?

The only reason that I can think of for this not working is that the blank cells have at least one space in them. When you click in the cell, is the cursor all the way on the left or are there spaces in the cell?

There is nothing in the cells. Additionally, I've tried hitting the "delete" key while the cell is selected and then using the ctrl + arrow keys to navigate and it still skips over it and goes to the end of the data set. I started a new excel workbook and the problem doesn't exist there so maybe it's file specific.
