Excel 2013: Cells to Numbers

Hello,

I'm working on excel document, but despite my efforts, I can't convert B and D columns to numbers. I tried tips that were given by MS and some Youtube tutorials, but nothing seems to be helpful.
All numbers align on the left side, instead of right and formulas such as average and sum doesnt seem to work. Any Ideas?

I'm attaching sample columns from the document, hope its enough information about my problem.

I can't access a drop box from work, what things have you tried?
There are many ways you can do it. One way I used to do (if you don't want to use a reference cell like =A2*1 in B2 for example) is I've done a find and replace for each number from 0 to 9, this has always worked for me, you have to run it 10 times but it has always worked.

Suggest you post your spreadsheet within the forum. Many people work in offices that do not allow access to Cloud locations. To attach a file in the forum:

try this in a helper...
=LEFT(B2,LEN(B2)-1)*1
you have a trailing space at the end of your data

It appears to me that your values in col B have a space at the end of them.
You could do a find " " and replace all (leaving blank) and that would get rid of those, also the trim function.

Sambo, trim() doesnt work you have to actually remove it

Omg, this actually so simple, thank a alot.

I tried seaching for a "space" but it doesnt seem to work, any automated way to get rid of spaces by column or I will have to do it manually?

FD, I don't use Trim much myself but I thought it might work in the context of if the OP was trying to use a formula that referenced the cell w/the space. Thought that might work for them.

@ Sambo, I know what you mean, I tried it 1st too

@ Image, copy my formula to a helper, copy down. Then, if you dont want the formula, copy/paste values over the original data - delete the helper
