    More advanced advanced filtering

    Hey Everyone,

I have a fairly complex filtering problem that I cannot figure out.

This is my first post so please forgive any missteps. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have an spreadsheet with ~3500 rows and 6 columns. Every cell in every row in the first two columns have values in them. Every name in column A is unique and every location in column B is unique.

Cells in the columns E&F have values in either E & F, E but not F, F but not E. Column E values are values from a list of about 400 (Let's call this this Makes). Column F values are values from a list of about 900 (Let's call this list Models)

Column C&D are blank. From the 3500 rows, I need to identify which rows will require me to fill C&D based on the cells' E&F combinations. There are about 50 combinations of E&F that I need to filter for. Each combination uses a different set from the list of Makes and a different set from the list of Models.

Is there a way to filter a sheet on column E by a set of values (OR relationship for the values in column E) AND also on Column F by a set of values (OR relationship for the values in F)?

The size of these sets can be so large that using the advanced filtering methods here do not suffice.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!

Post a workbook with a subset of your data, and show an example of desired output?

Hi and welcome ot the forum

Yor situation is a bit hard for me to visualize
Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to make it clear what is needed. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are demonstrated, mock them up manually if needed. Remember to desensitize the data.
