Return Icons when positive or negative

I have budget worksheet with projected and actual cost. I want the items in the actual cost collumn to have icons next to them. A green icon if the value is less than the projected cost, and a red icon if the value is greater than the projected cost. I know how to do conditional formatting to display red/green text, however I want icons instead. I could manually go in and add icons, but I want it to change accordingly for each month when I have to add in the new month's actual costs.

if you are going to add the icons into a column
then you can use an if statement
to use green greater than 0 number
and yellow is less than 0
should mean red/green is only used
    Now
in the cell you can use an if statement to -1 if value is less than projected
    and 1 if above
what do you need for a 0?

Thank you guys for the quick responses, this is the first excel help forum I haven't had to wait three-four days for a reply! I did some more fooling around and finally managed to do it with the conditional formatting so that it returned the correct icon as well as the red text. So this problem has now been solved, off to another hahahhaha!
