For a few weeks now I have been unable to open any file from this forum, even files that I have uploaded in the past. Every time I try to open a file I get an error message that the file is corrupt and cannot be opened.
Any Ideas where to start?

Try "save" before you open - that's my workaround

I havew not expeienced that problem to date. To see if the problem is on your end or the forum, can you point me to a few threads/posts where this hasd happened to you?

2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

I just tried to open the example from the following thread and get the same error message.
OK thanks for the link, I was able to open with no problems. I will push this to the Tech team, maybe they have a suggestion
Here is a screen shot of the message I keep getting. Obviously I can upload files it is just when I try to open one that I run into a problem. I have no problem on any other site if I want to download a file or link.
About a month or so ago I installed Access on my laptop and had a big problem in doing so. I had to resort to a link with the Windows Tech people to get it to download and install. Since then my computer is running ok but their are a few annoying issues such as I can't use any screen saver or change the idle time before my screen goes black. I don't know if this is something I will need to address with the windows tech team or not. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Just a test file.
I just uploaded a test file and tried to reopen it but I am getting the same error message.
I was able to open your test file without any problems, I will give it another nudge
Opens fine for me. I suspect this is one of those situations where Arlette would suggest clearing the cache and/or logging out and back in and/or rebooting the computer.

I logged out and rebooted the computer and I am still getting the same message. I have not had to deal with the cache so if someone could run through a brief explanation I will try that as well.

If you just recently upgraded Internet Explorer (if that is what you use) to version 11 you might have to run the Forum in Compatibility Mode. After doing that myself, I don't get that error....it was a rare happening.
This might also be a Firewall or anti virus program problem.

If you are able to upload but not download, then this is not a cache issue. This has got something to do with your MS Office. Try repairing Excel or uninstalling and installing again.
