Incrementing dates and then pasting date as value

    Hi all,

Wonder if anyone could help me, I'm stuck with something at the moment..

I'm trying to write a forumla which automatically increments the date based on todays date. The problem is that I don't know how many rows I'm going to have for each day so I need to increment the date (and leave the previous dates in place) automatically as each day continues.

sorry I'm finding it quite hard to describe! I've attached a spreadsheet with an example of the dates but not included any formulas, I've pretty much hit a dead end but feel like there should be a simple solution!

    Any help is appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Mark

Re: Incrementing dates and then pasting date as value

Hey, thanks for replying Yeah it's hard to describe! so I want to populate column c with todays date based on the value in column d. But if I use =today() in column D, then this will automatically update to reflect the new date and so column C will also change. So cells D2 > D15, when tomorrow occurs, I want the current date to almost "paste special", and then when I add a new row, the new "today date" is automatically incremented.

I can do it by just doing =today() and then at the end of that day, paste those dates as values, then tomorrow, do =today() and at the end of the day paste values again. Just trying to do it automatically, wouldn't be a problem if I had 100 rows every day, but I'm adding data to my sheet all the time (going down in rows) so need the date to automatically show the date the data was added, and increment for every day.

Does that make any more sense!?
