    Errors on Protected Sheet

I have just finished my excel application and I protect all of the sheets in my workbook.
The problem is every time I try to write on unprotected cells in a protected sheet and press enter/tab/ or simply move to other unprotected cells, I get the following error message:

The cells or chart that you are trying to change is protected and therefore read-only.
To modify a protected cell or chart, first remove protection using the Unprotect Sheet Command (Review tab, Changes Group).
You may be prompted for a password

I keep on getting around 2-3 such warning messages, and after that everything work normally i.e. the value of the cells change to the value that I have typed.
However, I found that this error is really annoying.
Is this a bug in excel application? or have I made a mistake?
Is there a way I can disable this error message?

    Re: Errors on Protected Sheet

    Hello Erwin W,

Unprotect your sheet/s, and then select the Cells which user/s may enter data into, and with Format Cells, select>Protect> and uncheck the Protect Box.

    Regards.

    Hello Erwin W,

I forgot to ask you if you have any VBA Code in the Workbook ?

If so, then please upload a sample of same, for us to have a look at, for you.

    Re: Errors on Protected Sheet

Are the "problem" cells Unlocked? Unprotect the worksheet, right click on a problem cell, choose Format Cells, Protection and uncheck the Locked selection box. When re-protecting the worksheet make sure that you are allowing the user to Select Unlocked Cells and nothing more.

    Re: Errors on Protected Sheet

I have already unlocked some of the cells before I protect the sheet. However, I still get that error messages.
I have uploaded a sample from my project here, I have deleted most of its contents so it may seems like a mess.
Just try to fill in the cells in yellow and press enter, and you will get the error message that I have mentioned.
The weird thing is if you unprotect the sheet and delte some of its contents, the error message will no longer be shown.
I wonder what cause this error message to appear.
    Thanks for your help!!

    Re: Errors on Protected Sheet

Until I activated the macro, the cells in yellow could be filled in. When macros were enabled, errors occurred when filling in the yellow area. An error message stated that the chart being updated was protected and read only.

Yeah, I keep getting that error message.
But there is no chart in the workbook at all, right?

    Re: Errors on Protected Sheet

I don't see a chart but, as soon as macros are enabled the errors start. Something is improperly protected. I'm no VBA expert so I can't trouble-shoot that.

    Re: Errors on Protected Sheet

    Hello Erwin W,

Your problem is not VBA related. The ComboBox1 on Tab B is linked to Cell S1, which, with Protection is Locked. UnProtect Tab B, right click on Cell S1>Format Cells>Protection, and uncheck the Locked Box, then Protect the Sheet again. Everything should then work just fine.

    Regards.
