Conditional formatting by testing for "True" or "False"

I am entering a formula for conditional formatting. The column has either the word TRUE or FALSE. I enter =TRUE or ="TRUE" and neither are working. I know TRUE and FALSE are keywords so I presume there is a special way to deal with this.

So I am testing for the word TRUE.

Perhaps you could post your formula and the variables it is working against so people could see if they can figure out why?

EDIT: small spreadsheet with examples would be best.

Re: Conditional formatting by testing for "True" or "False"

if the word true is the result of a formula say in b1 you have =a1="x" and you get TRUE/FALSE from that then the conditional format only needs to be =b1
