F4 doesn't work only in excel, how to make it work again?

I am using Excel 2007 with windows 7. Today I noticed my F4 function key no longer works in excel. It still works in Word. By the way Cntrl Y doesn't work either. Is there a setting somewhere in excel that prevents the repeat of the last function. I have rebooted and opened a brand new workbook no macros. Anybody know what the solution to re-enabling the F4 key is?

    Thanks

Ok, I figured it out. It had to do with an Essbase add-in. Even though the Essbase add-in was disabled it was still hampering the repeat F4 function. I enabled the secondary button option and F4 began working again.
