How to protect formulas when others are entering data?

I have a spreadsheet with multiple formulas in several columns - my staff will be using this spreadsheet to enter data throughout the year so it will be constantly touched by several users. Some of the columns are hidden, but I worry about someone sorting something funky or deleting or adding a row. Any way to protect the columns I have formulas in while still allowing them to enter data in the rest of the spreadsheet?

    Definitely...

Select all of the cells/rows/columns that users are allowed to change and press CTRL + 1. On the Protection tab, remove the check next to 'Locked'. Then go to Tools : Protection :: Protect Sheet... and select the activities you want users to be able to do, for instance:
    - Select UNLOCKED cells
    - Format cells
    - Format columns
    - Format rows
    - Sort

Enter a password (if you want to) - JUST DON'T FORGET IT! and then click OK.

Now users will only be able to select the unlocked cells and perform the activities that you allowed.

Thanks - I knew I could protect but needed a push in the right direction!
