Angry All open workbooks are in one Taskbar tab

In Excel 2003 multiple Excel workbooks were separate tabs in the Task Bar.
Very easy to tab between open workbooks, with the keyboard -OR- minimum mouse travel to select an alternative tab/workbook.

In Excel 2010 there is only one tab for "Excel", and the only way I can find to toggle between workbooks is the "File" ribbon tab and the oceanic flourishes of "lists" and mouse travel and clicks ... to activate another open workbook.
And guessing at file names because the left hand strip, "Recent Files", is way to narrow for even a modest file name.
. . . Who was the brilliant architect of this shambles.

I use Excel for commercial reasons not to play with Ribbons.

Is there a setting/shortcut-keys that makes tabbing between workbooks more 21st century "time" efficient ?

I would appreciate any assistance to put me out of my frustration ... Thank you

Re: All open workbooks are in one Taskbar tab

Ctrl-Tab moves between open workbooks, in sequence.
Alt-Tab moves between open windows, toggling between current and most recently active.

Also Ctrl+f6 (Ctrl+Shift+f6 to move back) will switch between workbooks.

Thank you OllyXLS and Sixthsense for your very quick responses,

It is about 10 years since I even touched Taskbar settings.
Now I feel embarrassed for having forgotten something so fundamental.

Re: All open workbooks are in one Taskbar tab

    Bad news.

Still only one taskbar icon for multiple open workbooks!
... in spite of "Never Combine" (or "Combine When Taskbar is Full")
Rebooted after changing taskbar properties, made no difference. . And the popup does NOT list the open workbooks.

PC is Win7 64-bit (not 23-bit) I have 4 PCs and 2 rigs (mixed "bits") ... late night "posting" was not a good idea. My apologies.

If I hide the popups, would that resolve the single-icon-for-multiple-workbooks issue ?
Popups serve no useful purpose, other than New-Pin-Close ... no list of open workbooks !
Is Win7_64-bit Registry item the same as Win7_32-bit
    . . . ie, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Taskband

Is there a registry tweak in Win7_64-bit to force a taskbar icon for each open workbook. ?
I often have 4 or 5 workbooks open, the current activation offerings are not very efficient.

    SHORTCUTS:
Worked out but took some time to discover they do not work if "File" ribbon tab is active. ie,...
Ctrl+Tab: only cycles through some "File" ribbon-tab items ... Info, Recent, New, Print, Save and Send, Help
Ctrl+F6 and Ctrl+Shift+F6 ... are dead if ribbon-tab "File" is active.
Otherwise shortcuts work well provided "File" ribon-tab is not active/selected.

Thank you to all contributors, my frustration level has eased

Re: All open workbooks are in one Taskbar tab

You're 2010, right? In Excel, try: File > Options > Advanced... In the 'Display' section, tick the [] 'Show all windows in the taskbar' option.

Sorry, I can't test right now, as on a 2013 'pooter. Google was my friend, though.

Oh, and Ctrl-Tab works no matter which ribbon pane is active. It's entirely unrelated to the ribbon.

Re: All open workbooks are in one Taskbar tab

    OllyXLS ... my hero

    Excel > File > Options > Advanced > Display ... [x]'Show all windows in the taskbar' . . . did the trick
Now have a taskbar icon for each open workbook.

    SHORTCUTS:

Ctrl+Tab: only cycles through some "File" ribbon-tab items ... Info, Recent, New, Print, Save and Send, Help
    ... when "File" ribbon-tab is selected/active.

BUT I hope we are still engaged . . . LOL
