one cell that changes all cells

Hello. If I set a date in one workbook and have that change in multiple workbooks (i.e. cells linked to that cell) Is that a good idea? I would actually prefer to change any cell (they are all linked to each other) and that would change all the others, but I'm not sure if that is a good idea. Thanks.

its a good idea , if you want to save typing in lots of different cells - or you could use a formula to refer to the sheet with the date on
just depends on what you are doing as to if a good idea

    Hi,

It's a good idea if all the functionality in the multiple workbooks really is dependent on that same single date. But consider for instance if the workbooks deal with say different years and you use that cell as the base date for say a series of months in a table. In that case it would be a bad idea.

For the links to update you will either need to open the master workbook, or use Data..Edit Links..Update Values
