    drop down list formatting

    hi guys
    all help gratefully received
    in cell g3 i have a supplier
in cell d3 ( goods ) i have an indirect link to a table based on the cell g3 value
if i select the supplier first it then changes what i can select for cell d3

    however

if i do cell d3 first ( which is happening ) it doesnt tell me that these goods are not from this supplier

is there anyway i can highlight cell d3 to say this is not correct as it is not in that list from supplier?

    thank you

There is probably a formula in D3 that depends on the value in G3 and you are over-writing it when you fill in D3.

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to make it clear what is needed. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are demonstrated, mock them up manually if needed. Remember to desensitize the data.

    Re: drop down list formatting

Cell D3 depends upon the value of G3. G4 depends upon G3, G5 depends upon G4. Process out of order and it doesn't work.

Correction: The DV isn't cascading. The cells in column D depend upon the cells in column G on the same row. The lists supporting the Data Validation are to the right.

Column H also has Data Validation but nothing seems to be connected to the choices
