add a condition to a formula

    OK,
    Formula: copy to clipboard

returns data IF "whatever" is at Sheet2!A9
There is a "whatever" of different kinds on every 9th row going down Col A Sheet2.
As it is now the formula needs to be modified for each subsequent query after A9.

If at all possible I want this formula to increase both the !$A$9 and
the !A9 by 9 each time the formula is copied and pasted down into another cell
and do it automatically. Maybe *9 and "" in the right place and proper
use of the $ would do it. Sample? Thank you

So I can't see what you're looking at, but maybe this will work
    Formula: copy to clipboard

    1. Include a sample workbook with an example of the result you want
    2. Use [CODE] and [FORMULA] wrappers for your VBA code or excel formulas

I'd need to see a sample workbook to understand what you mean.

Re: add a condition to a formula

    1. I have taken part of the formula written by k64.
    2. I have created a range called IDRange that contains the values for ID#1, ID#2, ID#3.
    3. I have used the INDEX function to pick up the cell with the correct row/column from IDRange.
    4. The formulas are in Sheet 3 in column I.

Re: add a condition to a formula

Yes, it does look good, however the question is not answered. 1st off though, I do appreciate the help from all and being relatively new to spreadsheets I probably use the wrong terminology or expressions. So, instead of asking the question I did, I probably should have been asking where I can find detailed information on the various ways to manipulate the ROWS function. So far I have not found anything except basic tutorials. Sorry for the confusion...

Hmm, I'm not exactly sure. I learned a bunch from ExcelIsFun on youtube.
