Open a new browser window from excel

I have a spread sheet that I have written that has 2 html links in it. The links work, but they only open in one browser tab. How do I get them to open in different tabs? Opening in two different browser sessions would be acceptable too. I have Excel 2007 and IE 9 but the users may have different versions.

    Hi Dave,

I thought this was a function of the browser and not Excel. For Internet Explorer read about these settings:

One test is worth a thousand opinions.

True, but I don't want to force users to change their browser settings. I am looking for something like target=blank which does not work in excel.

Which web browsers did you want to support? I wonder if each has the ability to open a new instance or a new tab? See:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compari..._Wikimedia.svg

As you can see the word "browser" has a lot of choices. I think your question is a little more complicated than you anticipated.

    The two links are:
    http://www.weather.gov/pbz/ and http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?r...01111&loop=yes

As for the browsers, these are Skywarn spotters that are using this sheet. The browsers can be any browser out there.
I wish that I could specify which one but these are volunters and I don't want to impose on them too muck.

    Hi Dave,

I used your two links above and pasted them using Hyperlink into the attached sheet. I'm using IE ver 11 and they DO open in 2 different tabs. Isn't this what you wanted? See the attached for my workbook. Click on A1 and then A2 to open the two sites.

Yes, but using a different version of IE, and not having IE set to open new url's in different tabe. Remember I don't have control over wnat the spotters have their browsers set for.

    Marvin,
I tried your download and it opened in the same tab.
You must have your browser set for new tab.
Unfortunately I can not do that.

I have attached the sheet for you to look at.
