Using Bar Graphs (Stackable/more than one value in each bar)

Evening,

I am trying to use a certain bar graph in Excel, but cannot see the right one, or at least get it to work. In essence what I'm trying to do is:

- Use stackable bars in the bar chart
- So for each category on the horizontal axis I want three values
- So an example would be for English, I would want the values 10, 65 and 100
- I want these all represented in a single bar within the bar chart
- When I choose the one with the logo that matches this it stacks all three values, but it actually adds these up
- So in the English example I mention on the vertical axis I want the first segment of the block to go up to 10, the second segment to continue up to 65, and the top segment to go upto 100.
- What is actually happening is the first segment goes to 10, the second to 75, and the third to 175 as they all add up.

Any ideas how I can get this to work how I want it to?

If I understand, you need to calculate the differences in the spreadsheet, then plot the differences.

values -- difference
10 -- 10
65 -- =65-10 'use cell references if desired
100 -- =100-65

Then plot the difference column in a stacked column or stacked bar chart -- depending on the desired orientation of the bars.
