Unable to insert a new column or a row in 2007 excel

Hi all,

I could not insert a new Row or Column in the excel sheet; every time whlie trying to insert a new row/column it's showing an error of " Cannot shift objexts off sheet". Find the attachment of a screen shot of that error message.

Please suggest how to get rid off such situation.

Check the last active cell in u r workbook and delete the content
Use Ctrl + End keys to identify the last cell in u spreed sheet
Check for Data validation
Check for Windows Freeze panes
Check for Windows Split function is active in u r sheet

Any chance of uploading the workbook so we can take a look at it? (as long as it contains no sensitive data)

Sorry guys, it's not possible for me to upload the workbook thats why I have uploaded the screen shot......

I have closed the workbook and restarted my syetem, still facing the same problem....

The screen shot just confirms the problem you are having, but cannot show what might be causing it

Hey, the excelsheet is in COMPATIBILITY MODE; is the error occuring for this reason ?

By doing the below things, it work perfectly:
Excel Option>Advance>Display options for this workbook> for objects, show; All

Thank you so much for sharing with us the setting you discovered to re-enable to insert a new column/row in 2007 excel. I just ran into the same issue using a file originally created by a friend. That drove me nut! I bet you must have spent a great deal of time trial and error before you luck out. You saved my day!
