    Cell value to represent hours...

    Hi...

I want the value of a cell to represent 45 hours... so that I can refer to this cell as a fixed amount of time that I can then use in a formula.

for example, if I want to know what the time is + 45hrs.

Eg: In cell A1 I have value "24/12/2014 12:00", and the cell formatted to display (dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm)

I want cell A2 to hold the value of "45 hours" ...

    In cell A3 I want to have the simple formula: =A1+A2 ... that will then return the result "26/12/2014 09:00" ... ie 24/12/2014 12:00 + 45hrs.

    Can anybody help?

    =A1+A2

where A1 is a date and time
    and A2=45:00:00

Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.

Your cell equation in A3 will have to look like this:

When you add 1 to a date value, it assumes it is a day. Therefore, divide the number of hours by 24 to get the number of days to add.

    Edit:
I saw you wanted the value of "45 hours". If you want the word hours in there, the following equation will use everything to the left of the space to provide the number of hours.

Thank you Special K, and sorry for the slow reply... had to leave this for a while. The extra ":00" was all it took (eg "45:00:00" - instead of "45:00" that I was using).
