How to stop excel from asking to enable editing and update links

You can look at the Excel Options then on Trust Center and then on Trust Center Settings...
Then you go on the External Content and you will see security settings about Automatic update of workbook links or Data Conections.

Also in the Advanced part of the options, you can look at the General section where you have the option to "Ask to update automatic links"

You'll have to play with those to see which setup works for you.
