Serial No Continuity

Hi;

I am working on a large data excel sheet.
Some times I have to filter it for some specific readings.
Or I have to hide some irrelevant data to print or get kind of report.

Question is
When I hide or filter hide some rows data Serial Nos become irregular like...

when I hide record 3 & 4 Serial No will become like...
1
2
5
6

In this case need to copy this data and reformat and renumber, this exercise take too much time

Please tell me any function which renumber the available data in regular form like..

I don't understand. Why would you want to change a serial number that belongs to a record (row)?

Assuming your serial no is mentioned in C columns

Try

A2=SUBTOTAL(3,$C2) and drag down.

B2=SUM($A$1:INDEX(A:A,ROW())) and drag down. ( this is the serial no continuity.

its working with filter of data
but when i hide some rows it does not rearrange numbers

how ever with filters it works good
