Merging 2 versions of the same workbook together OR sharing a workboo

I have a multi-page spreadsheet that multiple people refer to and make changes in on a daily basis. The problem is that the 1st person to open it is the only one that has editing permissions each day. The rest of the staff can only open it as read only and would have to save it under a new name. Is there a way that multiple users can open the same workbook and all make changes to the same file?

It is possible to Share a workbook (see this MS article https://support.office.com/en-gb/art...4-0ca4658b0c61) but there are limitations as to what you can do (these are shown in the article) so it depends what the various people are doing.

It can also be a little bit flaky at times so approach with extreme caution especially if it has critical data
