Outside the table it works fine. It's a color gradient for dates between a certain time. This must be a basic thing with tables. Anyone know what the problem is?

Thanks! The table disappeared when I pasted it into this sample file, but the issue still carried over as you can see in the orange column. The gradient works above where I originally created them outside the table, but in the table no gradient.
you seem to be testing row 8 in row 7
also now does not have ()
should be now()
okay, I've changed it but as you will see no difference. Any ideas? Thanks
on your second one
you have minimum as today+5 and maximum as today

Correct, the +5 one says in a few days something is coming up. If that day becomes today() then we're in the red, so the redder it gets, the closer to today its coming. In the original table i also can sort the rows by that date showing the closest ones first but i just wanted to add the color to assist in catching my attention, like say if im skimming across my sheets and these due dates arent sorted and maybe i might forget to check if i didnt see some redness in the table. Its an extra visual reminder.
Its working now because i pasted the formula. Im done arguing with excel. Some times you just have to settle for an accidental solution and cross your fingers it doesnt happen again. Thanks for stopping by
you have way too many circular references in your spreadsheet
you cannot refer to the cell you typing your formula in
ie
in A2
Formula:Please Login or Register to view this content.
first get rid of these as its probably stuffing arounding your calculations
your minimum cannot be more than your maximum
i think you mean for your minimum to be today-5 instead of +
The reason for the circular reference is to setup a timestamp , which was requested in another thread
so the circular reference is OK to do that
may have an issue on Cond Frmt - should be OK though

oh i need to turn on iteration...no wonder it was spitting out incorrect information
