I need to input, in the same cell, 2 lines: the first- left justified, while the second has to be centered. I've tried to select only the 2nd line and justify it but the Alignment options are inactive while text is selected. Is there any way at all to do that?

Not natively, no. Whether or not there is a way to do it with VBA, I don't know, but the easiest way to achieve your goal is to split the cell contents over two rows or settle for one type of justification for all of it.
