Converting Excel data schedule to calendar

Hello all! I am a managing partner in my 9 partner business. I help the office manager with scheduling. I created an Excel spreadsheet (attached) to help plan schedules months in advance. The office manager has been using my spreadsheet to manually enter schedules onto a calendar. There must be an easier way to import this data to a calendar. I tried to change the file to a CSV file but I couldn't figure out how to import multiple subjects (persons) and locations (location of work). Any suggestions? As you can see, we have 13 providers in the business. Thank you!

It would be helpful if you could show us what your calendar looks like. Do you have one month per sheet, and do you show all 13 names for each day/week? Just a small sample related to the schedule data that you have already posted will suffice.

It should be possible to display this in a calendar format: it just depends how you would like to format the data.

    Hope this helps.

    Pete_UK,
Thanks for your reply. We have to schedule 8 doctors and 5 nurse practitioners and we are in different places on different days. I have attached a typical monthly schedule with daily assignments. The first 3 initials denote the person and the following initials denote the location/assignment for the day. The schedule attached is something the office manager manually enters. Thanks again for any help that you can provide.

Re: Converting Excel data schedule to calendar

I've put together a file that will do this for you automatically. Your initial data is in the Schedule sheet - I've not changed this at all. There is also a Calendar sheet which allows you to select the month and year of interest and it will generate the appropriate display from the two drop-downs in cell L5 and L6. It's up to you what you do with it then - you can print it out, or publish it to PDF etc.

Note that with this display (Sunday to Saturday) then if a 30-day month starts on a Saturday, or if a 31-day month starts on a Friday or a Saturday, then the calendar would occupy 6 weeks, as 1 or 2 days at the end of the month would spill into that 6th week. In order to avoid that, I have arranged for these "orphan" days to be displayed on the top block of the calendar, as with some printed calendars. You can see this with April 2017 and July 2017.

    Hope this helps.

    Pete_UK,
This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Thanks so much! This will be a tremendous time saver for our group. I apologize if this is not appropriate (as I'm a newbie to this forum) but is there a way that my group could compensate you for your time and excellent help? Have a great week.

Re: Converting Excel data schedule to calendar

It worked okay for me when I downloaded it.

Perhaps you should start a new thread with a title like "Downloads turn into PHP file" to see if any others have had the same happen to them.

    Hope this helps.

Start your own thread (you should not try to hijack someone else's thread - see Rule 04 at the top of the screen), and attach an example of what your data looks like and how you want it displayed. I'll be logging off shortly for a few hours, but I'll check back later.

Re: Converting Excel data schedule to calendar

Well, it looks like 325 other people have been able to download it, and it worked for me when I tried it just now, so I don't know how I can advise you further.
