    Stock price trailing stop

I am an amateur at excel. I would like to capture the highest value calculated for a specific stock. A= purchase price of stock. B= current days stock price. C= trailing stop calculated by multiplying B* a variable percentage (example 75%) D= highest ever calculated trailing stop. this number can increase but never decrease from the highest calculated.

I do not know how to calculate D. please advise

Use the Max function. Here is a link to the syntax for that function.

    Re: Stock price trailing stop

as the current days closing stock price changes (B), the calculated trailing stop (C) will change daily. it is not a string of figures from which I need to pull the Max but single cell whose figure changes daily. I would like (D) to capture the highest figure recorded in (C). it can go up, but never down.

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
