I'm assuming this is beginners stuff. Maybe not, maybe I've graduated. Let me know if I should use another sub forum.
Anyway, so here is the formula:
=VLOOKUP($J$2,maint!$I9:$EL26,MATCH(table17[[#Headers],[price9]],table17[[#Headers],[To: owner/rep]:[notes13]],0),0)
But don't get lost in it. The problem pretty much lies in the "maint!$I9:EL26" range.
I always have to edit this address as I add rows to this range. Major pain in the butt as I have like 30-40 cells with this formula.
As you know I hope, the VLOOKUP requires you to start your range at the column where you need to lookup the field to match with your lookup cell, SO... you can't really address a particular table, in my case, a "dynamic" ever-changing one. And I think that is my problem. I know that if it wasn't using VLOOKUP I could use named ranges/tables to refer to data and it would always refer to whatever cells the table contained, but there is no 'name' for that range inside a table to name. Or is there? Can I create another table inside the table starting at column I and name it and then refer to it?
If not, is there some other way to get VLOOKUP to update on it's own?
Thanks!
