Does format painter work with 3 color conditioning formatting ?

    Hello everyone!

So I have a column, it has a 3 color gradient conditioning formatting, high value 10, mid value 5, low value 0. They look as they should, however I want columns to the right to have the same color across their respective rows.

I though I could do this with format painter but it is not doing anything.

    Any help?

    Thanks in advance,
    Juan

Don't use format painter - it's hit and miss at the best of times for CF. Just make sure that your CF formulae have the correct cell references (with and without $ as appropriate) and assign them to the appropriate ranges through the dialog. Make sure you are within the first column of your range when setting up your rules.

Wow! Thank you for the quick response.

Frankly, I don't know how to do this... I mean the columns to the right have no numbers just dates and other data, I just want the 3-color CF thats on the one column to apply to the others.

You'd have to attach a sample sheet for me to advise further. CF is a tricky thing to master, as many people discover.

Adjust your range in your CF rule to include the extra column, you shouldnt need to change anything else (except maybe make sure the cell you are basing it in, has teh column ref fixed 0 $B3, not just B3)
