how to "insert cut cells" mouse-free?

sometimes I like to do repetitive steps a bit faster with keyboard shortcuts, as many of us do, and in this case have encountered this challenge. Apparently to get the option to insert your cut cells/row you have to activate the context menu from the cursor over the row number, which if I'm right about this eliminates the possibility of doing this without the mouse, unless any of you have a solution. Might there be one, a way of selecting just the row number rather than the entire row which isn't specific enough for Excel to provide you with the "insert.." function? Thanks

    select your cell

press ctrl and x to cut the selection

use the arrow buttons to select the top left hand corner of the area that you want to paste into.

    Press Ctrl and V
