    Talking Help with Auto Population

Hello everyone! I am in need of some Excel assistance, any help is greatly appreciated! I am using Excel 2010.
I am wondering how to have information from one page auto populate another page depending on an answer. I will give an example down below:

So there are 3 pages, Question sheet 1, Question sheet 2, and the corrective actions sheet.1.PNG

The questions in the Question Sheets are asked, and the a 1 is put in the Accepted column if it is Okay and a 1 is put in the Reject column if it isn't.
    2.PNG 3.PNG

When a question is rejected it will auto populate in the Corrective Actions tab like so:
    4.PNG

I was just wondering how do I preform this function in Excel? I am trying to get it so the question in cells in Question sheet 1 or 2 aren't only assigned to one specific cell in the corrective actions. For instance in Question sheet 1, if cell H1 is the only reject, it will populate cell B1 in corrective actions. If in question sheet 1 cells B1 and H1 are rejected, B1 would appear in B1 and H1 would appear in C1. The same would go for Sheet 2 (or more sheets added in) so that in the corrective actions sheet you would see a mix of questions from multiple sheets. They change what cells they populate depending on how many questions are rejected. I don't know if that makes any sense, but I appreciate any help!

Disclaimer: This is not for a class or homework, but for work.

    Thanks!

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.

Hi Hey and welcome to the forum,

Now that I've read your question, the thing that makes the most sense it:
I don't know if that makes any sense, but I appreciate any help!
You have a multi sheet workbook and want to create a summary sheet from the sheets before it.?? Somehow you want to use Accept and Reject to WHAT on the summary sheet?
One test is worth a thousand opinions.

    Re: Help with Auto Population

Basically I need the questions in the question sheets(multiple) to appear in the corrective actions sheet if rejected. Just the name of the questions, the actual action will be manually put into place. I'm so sorry about the confusion! It all makes sense now lol! Thank you!

What I am confused about is the before and after. Could you walk us through a couple of examples of filling out the sheets and the kinds of results you want.

A second question: is the number of questions fixed, or could the list vary?

I can see where you want to go. For every value of 1 in the rejected column you want a formula that will return the Q"n" value in that row and concatenate it with either "Set 1" or "Set 2"

Please see attached. I got close, but I can't figure out how to evaluate both question sets in the same column in your "Corrective Actions" tab. I can get it to work for each Question set separately.

I created some Dynamic Named Ranges to help me with the formulas and a helper row that counts the number of Rejected entries in each Question Set tab.

Please Login or Register to view this content.
If you click on the Formulas Tab>Name Manager you will see
the ranges I created and the formula used.

The referencing formulas I used are:

For Question Set 1 (Array Entered and dragged down):
Please Login or Register to view this content.
For Question Set 2 (Array Entered and dragged down):
Please Login or Register to view this content.
I can't get these two to combine in the same column because the K, parameter needs to be dynamic in ways that I can't figure out. Otherwise, they will generate a list of all Questions rejected for sets 1 and 2
    but in separate lists.

I hope that gets you close, maybe someone can see how to combine these two or another solution.

    Re: Help with Auto Population

I think I just got it to work. The helper row that counts the number of rejected values was the key. The combined formula from my post above is:

    Array Entered and Copied Down:

Note, the way the formula works, the rejected questions from list 1 will always appear first because they are evaluated first. Take a look at the updated attachment, is that what you're after?

Thanks for your help! I really appreciate it! I think this is what I am after, but unfortunately I am not to good with excel so I am going to have to wait until Monday when I have lots more time to figure out how to try out your functions! I will keep you updated! Thanks a bunch!
