    Index Match with multiple returns

    Hello,

    I'm new to the forum.
    I have a sheet that has an index/match that is pulling multiple results. I can't figure out what is wrong. It is pulling items that don't correspond with match. I think it is something simple buy I have been starting at it for hours and my head is spinning.

    On the Order Sheet underneath Wine is where the index/match is located.

    Thanks,
    Fernando

    Re: Index Match with multiple returns

    You seem to be referencing a lookup table in another workbook. So I can't tell you what it should be seeing. Do you want to do that, or do you want to reference the inventory sheet in this workbook that I note has different prices?
    One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.

    A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.

    Explain what the formula is supposed to do and when/why it's wrong.

    Re: Index Match with multiple returns

    Hi,
    It is referencing the inventory sheet. For right now you can disregard the prices. Once I get this fixed then the prices of the wine will come up when the wine does.

    So what is supposed to happen is when I change the distributor on A2, everything that we buy from that distributor should pop up underneath the Wines menu. It is currently doing that but it is off. It pulls more than it should or it is pulling different wines.

    Thanks for your help.

    Named ranges:
    Distributor =Inventory!$G$4:$G$18
    DistributorName ='Order Sheet'!$A$2
    Inventory =Inventory!$A$4:INDEX(Inventory!$D:$D,COUNTA(Inventory!$D:$D)+2)

    The G column is empty, did you mean the A column where the distributors are?
