Conditional Formatting based on either a word, a letter or a number

    Dear Forum.

Wondering if someone could help me out and let me know how to do the following. Please see attached basic file.

I want cells I10:I19 to be such that if it is "None", it will fill grey, if it is a letter (A thru Z), it will be yellow, if it is a number it will be green.

Thank you for any help you can provide!

    Hi,

The workbook was missing but in its absence in I10 copied to I19

    Greeen
    =ISNUMBER(I10)
    Grey
    =I10="None"
    Yellow
    =AND(I10<>"None",ISTEXT(I10))

Unfortunately the paperclip 'attach' (sic) icon doesn't work .

If you click on the Go Advanced button you'll find an area underneath the post panel called 'Manage Attachments' which will work.

Thank you for your response Richard. Sorry just getting back now.

I'm afraid I don't quite understand your solution. I have attached the file via the manage attachments method you mentioned (Thank you!). Could you copy and paste into that workbook so I can see?

    Thank you again.
