Reordering data that has been cut-and-pasted into Excel

I need some help reordering data that I'm cutting-and-pasting into Excel. The data takes the form of a long list of news articles (100+). For each article I have the headline, publisher's name, time/date of publication/words/language, and a snippet of text. When pasted in, the data appears as shown in the first of the two screenshots below. What I want to do is convert this data so it appears in the second of the two screenshots, with headline, publisher's name, time/date of publication/words/language, and the snippet of texts each in their own column. Is there a quick-and-easy way of doing this? I'm having to do a lot of cut-and-pasting which is very time-consuming and not viable...

Welcome to the forum! Please take a moment to re-read forum rule #1 and then amend your thread title to something that better explains your problem. Changing your thread title is not optional, which means you must change it. Thanks!

    • Use concise, accurate thread titles.
    • Your post title should describe your problem, not your anticipated solution.
    • Use terms appropriate to a Google search - poor thread titles, like Please Help, Urgent, Need Help, Formula Problem, Code Problem, and Need Advice tell us nothing.
    • Responding to a request to change your thread title by doing so is mandatory.

To change a title go to your first post, click EDIT then Go Advanced and change your title.

No help to be offered, please, until the OP complies with this request.

    Re: Re

    1. Please amend the title of your thread to something that describes yourproblem. "Re" describes nothing. A good title would reflect the words you would usein a goglesearch.

    2. Will you please attach a SMALL sample Excel workbook (10-20 rows of data is usually enough)? Please don't attach a blurry picture of one (no-one will want to re-type all your stuff before starting).

    1. Make sure that your sample data are truly REPRESENTATIVE of your real data. The use of unrepresentative data is very frustrating and can lead to long delays in reaching a solution.

    2. Make sure that your desired solution is also shown (mock up the results manually).

    3. Make sure that all confidential information is removed first!!

    4. Try to avoid using merged cells. They cause lots of problems!

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment. So, to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: Just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.
