Uhm for some reason something wrong is going on here.
I could swear earlier i could write 20+1 and it calced out for me as 21. Now, it doesnt calc 20+1 just show as it is without calcing.
When i try ;20+1 or '20+1 both just show as it is without calcing.. hmm weird.

maybe format cell as TEXT then input your 20+1

I tried General, Number, Text and everytime I got : 20+1 not 21

I have no problem entering (exactly like this) 20+1 into a cell, and have it show that way - the cell is formatted as General

    H
    I
    J
    5
    6
    20+1

If you want the cell to show 21, you must enter it like this:

    =20+1

I agree, seems that it started as showing 20+1, then changed to =20+1

Cool Re: 20+1 instead show me as 21, is there a way to do that?

    or all in one:

    a
    b
    c
    1
    20+1
    21
    =--left(a1,search("+",a1)-1)+mid(a1,search("+",a1)+1,99)

Re: 20+1 instead show me as 21, is there a way to do that?

Im sorry, i may have provided bad information.

I can write 20+1, but it doesnt calc it... further on the last line i have a cell with: =sum that will calc all number's iv provided.
Yes i know that: =20+1 works.... but then doing this will show 21 in the cell.

All i want, that this cell show 20+1 and in the =sum cell it will calc it as 21.

You may wonder why i want to put 20+1 instead of 21?
Is because i want to show everyone else that this guy got 20 point in addition 1 point extra for his fastest time.
Putting numbers 21 may confuse other, putting 20+1 everyone else understand what this means.

We have a system that we giving member's point 20, 18, 16 and then 15,14,13,12 and so on.
Also 1 point for fastest time.

So if this guy didnt win or came 3. place (That will give him 16 point).
This guy also was the fastest and will be given 1 point for that..so as this: 16+1.

This information everyone understand instead of putting number: 17.

I hope this provide enough information

Re: 20+1 instead show me as 21, is there a way to do that?

    One way:

    =IF(A1="","",SUMPRODUCT(--MID(SUBSTITUTE(0&A1&"+0","+",REPT(" ",100)),{1,101},100)))

    If this isn't correct...

Will you please attach a SMALL sample Excel workbook (10-20 rows of data is usually enough)? Please don't attach a picture of one (no-one will want to re-type all your stuff before starting).

    1. Make sure that your sample data are truly REPRESENTATIVE of your real data. The use of unrepresentative data is very frustrating and can lead to long delays in reaching a solution.

    2. Make sure that your desired solution is also shown (mock up the results manually).

    3. Make sure that all confidential information is removed first!!

    4. Try to avoid using merged cells. They cause lots of problems!

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment. So, to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: Just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.
    Attached Files Attached Files

Why don't you make your life easier by having one column for the score and another to the right for extra points earned? It would make the summing so much easier.

Yea you correct, i could do that, and this is what im working on now.
    One more question:

    In a cell(D5) i have:

If you look at D$20 to D$31 i have not put anything in those cell's except one person gets number 1, .... but as a result of this, all other cell's show number: 0 (D5 gets this zero...and so on)
This looks messy with all those zero's, is there a way to hide all those?? the formatting will look better.
