Calculate Finish Date by adding start date with duration and Exclude weekends

    Dear Forum Members,

I am a beginner and am struggling with the formula to add x number of days to the start date and make sure the finish date is not a weekend. I have updated the start date in A1 and trying to add the days required in column C to the start date in Column A. Then, I want to ensure that the Finish date in column B is not a Saturday or Sunday.

Can you pls help me with this? Attached is the working file.

    Thanks,
    KR

    Format B3 as short date.

    coolcruiser,

I could not make up if you needed a new day before or after the weekend.
You could use this code to add 1 or 2 days ( depending on saturday or sunday) to set the date to next Monday.

You can alter the code if you need the date to be on a friday before the weekend (saturday or sunday)

i enclosed you workbook and added 2 worksheets with code adding or substracting a day after or before the weekend.
Even a little help can be a big help !!

Re: Calculate Finish Date by adding start date with duration and Exclude weekends

    MarMo,
Looking at your solution, Row 16 has 6/13/2018 as finish date on both sheets.

OP needs to clarify if this should be 6/15/2018. Does he want to count weekend days in the "Days Required" or should we skip all weekend days?
If we want to skip all weekend days, then my simple formula [see msg # 2] takes care of that.

    modytrane,

    point taken.
There was no indication on what was really needed, so i presumed that weekends could be counted as well.
If we only want workingdays counted, then your formula works better!
