Highlighting cells according to dropdown list and date

    Hi,

Ok so I've been trying to do this but haven't been able to, so maybe you guys can help me here.
In my job I have to receive documents periodically (monthly, every two months, every 6 months, etc.). There is also a yearly deadline. In front of the table below I have a month table (Ag/18,sept/18 and so forth)

    Example:
    Account__Start of Date___Deadline______Frequency
    __A______1/8/2018_____3 years_____every 6 months
    __B______23/5/2017____5 years_____every 3 months

Want I'm looking for is to highlight the months I'm supposed to receive the documents using dropdown list of frequency so that they will automatically highlight the given months starting from the "start of Date" field.
So, in Example A, as I fill the info it would highlight every February and August, for 3 years straight.

    Is It possible??

Thank you guys for any feedback

Hi dubfinder. Welcome to the forum.

You will get faster/more response if you attach an actual Excel workbook file that clearly shows what you are starting with and what you want the results to be. You may have to hand type 10 or so sample results.

If you are not familiar with how to do this:

To attach a file to your post: (Please no pics or screenshots ... saves retyping data.),
    • be sure to desensitize the data
    • click “Go Advanced” (next to Post Quick Reply – bottom right),
    • scroll down until you see “Manage Attachments”, click that,
    • click “Browse”.
    • select your file(s)
    • click “Upload”
    • click “Close window”
    • click “Submit Reply”

The file name will appear at the bottom of your reply.
    Dave

    Hey Dave,

    Thank you for the recommendations.

I don' know what desensitize the data means, so I Just did an example of what I'm looking for.

The ones in green means I have already received the billing documents, the ones in blue are still yet to be sent.

    Thanks!

Sorry I should have clarified. It means don't post sensitive information ... real names, telephone #, credit card #, email addresses ... etc. Use "fake" data just as you have done in your upload.

Two points before going further. Your DV list was missing. I made one in column CD. Column CD is also part of a lookup table to determine the numbers of months for monthly, bimonthly, quarterly etc.

There is a duplicate range below the report range. This is my "cheat sheet" for working out the CF formulas. You can leave it if you like or refer to it if it helps you understand how it works and relates to the report range.

For the dark blue conditions find this formula in CF manager.
    Formula: copy to clipboard

and for the light blue/"received" conditions this formula.
    Formula: copy to clipboard

Does this do what you want?
