You could try using Evaluate on the formula ribbon which will go through the function one step at a time. The portion of the function which is underlined shows what will be evaluated next.
Alternatively highlight sub-parts of the function and hit F9 to get them to evaluate.

Overall, it looks like the function takes a sheet/tab name/number/identifier in H1 and a row number in A5 and returns the value from the resulting reference. Is that what you are expecting it to do?
