Help with daily tracking

I am building a spreadsheet for tracking my business daily progress for the month. I have all my tracking formulas in and working . The only thing i cant get down is I have a daily column and a Month To Date column. I want for whatever i put into the daily column to automatically add to the MTD column. I have daily in B5 and MTD in C5. When I put =SUM(B5+C5) in C5 it just creates a circular reference

As the worksheet is only partially built my best suggestion is to create a helper area (to the right) and when you have entered the data for each day in the today column copy that to the appropriate column in the helper section.
I have uploaded a sample but note that only the first row has formula in it.

Ok.I thought there was an easy way to add automatically whatever I put in B column to a total in Column. That was really what I am trying to find.

What you've uploaded is a "Daily" doc, so for MTD, where is Yesterday and All days previous for the same month's information coming from?

Also, can you "mock" up some numbers for Column B and C so we know how you want your results?

Need answers for Both questions above.

Once something is put in todays numbers it will get added to MTD. So if i put something in on the first. That will be MTD. If i put something on on the 2nd, the 1sts #'s are already in MTD. Ive added numbers in all the fields if that helps.
I dont care about previous days numbers as I can always adjust MTD

Instead of typing the values into column B, you could type them into the columns N:AR based on the date.
Column B could be populated using: =INDEX(N5:AR5,MATCH(I$2,N$2:AR$2,0))
Cell C5 could be populated using: =AS5
