    Boxes in cells?

    Afternoon,

Sometimes when I click on a cell, instead of selecting the cell it seems to create a little box which covers half the cell. What is this?
I have a feeling I'm leaving these empty boxes scattered over the worksheets which may be slowing things down.

    Thanks

Try F5/Special/Select Objects. What do you see?

F5 doesn't seem to work, but when I bring up the 'Selection Pane' I seem to have 32,000+ text boxes?

I've seen this before. Another way in is

    Home/Editing/Find & Select/Goto special/objects

    and then hit delete.

This does seem to be the issue, but how do I select all of the 30,000+ text boxes. In the panel it only allows me to select them individually - ALT A doesn't seem to work?

    Thanks

Thankyou. It didn't work on my laptop as it just froze - I guess too many objects - but it's worked on my desktop.
